| International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) No. 15 |
International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM) No. 15 as per standards of International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) will be implied for all the ports in Turkey with effect from 1st January 2006. This means all import cargo with the wooden packaging material i.e. all the cargo placed on a wooden pallet or covered by a wooden box or etc.. has to be stamped with ISPM NO:15 sign which certifies that package has been treated to fumigation process to kill the insects that live on the wooden. As a result of any inspection if it will be seen that the imported cargo with wooden package is not covering the requirements that have been stated, it may lead to severe results such as return cargo process or fumigation operations and destruction of the commodity.
